This trip has been very different from the others because we have been hosted by other families and so we had to adapt ourselves to different lifestyle, different habits and also different food!!!

The first day, as soon as we arrived in Holland, we were all very excited and curious to know our Dutch friends. When we left the airport ofAmsterdam to go to Breda, everyone was talking about the possible situation you could find in the new family. During the trip we were entusiastic to see the typical Dutch landscape and the typical Dutch houses: they are all very nice with a lot of flowers in the gardens (expecially tulips).
When we arrived in Breda there were a lot of people and we started to be worried because we had to divide ourselves and go with our Dutch partners who didn`t know us!

The first minutes with the Dutch family were very embarassing because we didn`t know what to say or what to do…then the following days things started bettering and we began to know better our Dutch partners. We have been very lucky because we found a very kind and available families that made us feel like at home!
Now we are very affectionate to these families and we think that we will have to come back home we will be sad to leave them…but luckily we will meet them again in September when they will come to Sicily: we will be very happy to host them and we hope to be able to offer them the same kindness and availablity that they have given to us in these days!

When we left Sicily we were very afraid because we didn’t know what kind of family we could find. When we arrived in Holland the Dutch families were waiting for us. The first impact was very strange, because from this moment we had to change our life style. In fact when we arrived home we found strange food and different uses; we had to have dinner at 6:30 and for us it was very early. After that we took a shower and at 9:00 we went to bed.

The first days were very hard because it was difficult to adapt myself to the new siutuation. In the morning we had to wake up early and go to school by bycicle even it was very cold. But the most important thing is that we have to speak only English.

Another strange thing for us it was to live with cats, dogs and other pets and even to eat with them… But for us all these things were not a problem; the most important thing was that the family was very friendly, kind and available with us.

This experience has been very important to improve our English, to be responsible, to socialise and to know each other culture.

Our experience in Holland has been very good and important for us.

Our first opinion is about the food. Vegetables are the main dish of the Dutch cooking: potatoes, carrots, onions. In particular Dutch love onions that we hate. We have been very lucky because we have found lovely families.

The second opinion is about the girls. They are very nice and not very friendly. They are very quiet and shy.
The third point of view is about the boys. They are all the same and very boring, but they play soccer very well. Some of them are nice but they are also shy.

We want to come back here. Bye bye!!!
